O do i have questions for you guys. I just replaced the heads today because the old ones were warped.  The motor starts and runs really weak , i think theres a coil pack issue but not sure.  The motor runs around 2000 rpms and sometimes comes down to 1500 but i dont think all the cylinders are firing properly.  It Revs but really slow and sounds like a 4 banger.  i dont think its a turbo problem because when it runs n/a its just as weak. tomorrow im going to change plugs.  I think its either a bad coil pack or ecm.   i dont think a bad crossover would make it run that weak either.  how can i test coil packs and wires with a multimeter?

I would first check the coils and under them is the ICM (ignition control module)

as far as i know you can't test the coils with a meter.....i could be wrong but i have never heard of an actual test for that.

Hey,  thanks for replys.  the pushrods are def right.   Im probably going to remove ICM and packs but how should i check them before buying new ones?  i have a multimeter.  thanks

The ICM you can take to most parts stores (advanced, autozone) and have it tested. Have them test it 15-30 times thou. It is key to get the unit warmed up for a more practical test. Their is a way to test the coils, but I cant remember how.

The only to test these coils successfully is to take a known good one and swap it out one at a time with the three on the car. You need to produce the same driving condidions ( problem speeds and loads) each time with each coil. An ohm meter will not determin if a coil is good or bad.

Same with the ICM borrow somebody's that you know works. The stores are there to sell parts. Don't know whats  wrong with there machines that test these things but they aren't worth a shit. Coils are most likely your problem the ICM's rarely fail compared to coils. The ICM on my care has been tested 2 or 3 times and failed. Sure runs good for a bad ICM. :icon_lol:

You do realize that the #1 spark plug is closest to the firewall and on the passengers side right??

I made that mistake once myself but you need to check and make sure the plug wires are correct. ;)
