The '65s large jurnal 327 tossed two rods months ago. It was doing good on the highway at 5Krpm (stalled converter, stock high gears)..as it always does. Then it started making a knocking noise..and then banging and then havic. I suspect mine tossed it because of too many 8Krpm revs. Could you have gone beyond 7Krpm? Free reving also causes this too. Thats just to say that its not always mechanical error.

If you take whats left of the rod off the jurnal..that can tell you if the crank was cut wrong by the bearings and the sides of the rod caps.

ROFL!

i have a few plans for the Turbo Cutty :icon_biggrin:

a few things to order  :icon_wink:  and then it's time to head down to The Springs for a tuning session with Kenny :icon_cool:

i'm pretty excited about it to say the least.  i'll miss the Regal GS but i can make the Cutlass just as quick as a modded GS not to mention the Cutlass will be a helluva lot more fun to drive :icon_mrgreen:

good luck with your Turbo Cutty.  maybe take a little break from it and then you'll be ready to dive in and make it better than ever.  let us know your plans.

Actually, when I sold that car to Jeff it was still the stock TGP driver's side axle.  The driver's side axle should be the same between all 4T60, 282, and 284 W-bodies.
