I'm looking for a rear brake proportioning valve from a PowermasterIII equipped W-body.
I noticed a small puddle under the TGP today, and saw little drips of brake fluid hanging off of the valve. If anyone has one for sale, please PM me. Thanks!

Nevermind, I found the new part number, and ordered one on GMPartsDirect for $65.

For future reference, the part number for the Rear Proportioning Valve is 88927272

Thanks for the P/N mine has leaked since I owened it. (16 years).

My wife started to take it from my convience store here in texas and ran into the curb because it was out of fluid do the valve leaking.

I'll bet it is eaiser to change the valve than check the fluid every month

Good find. :icon_biggrin:

Anyone know how to band-aid fix these valves to stop them from leaking?
The TGP is going through a lot of fluid because of this. I need a quick fix while I wait on the part to arrive.

An update..
I still haven't recieved the part from GMPD, but the status says "on order", so I know it's in the process..
However, I've learned that since I work at a GM dealership, that I should start asking them about parts from now on. I talked to one of the parts guys today, and he found me a Proportioning valve, and it will be here tomorrow. Plus, I get it cheaper with my employee discount, so that's always a nice perk.
I'm having the dealership install the part, and bleed the entire system on Friday. I chose this route because it is the fastest way we can get the car fixed, it may cost more, but I also get a discount on labor too. Besides, I trust the people, and can watch them work.

Anyway, the point of this random babbling is to check at your local dealership before you order from GMPD. You may pay a little more, but if you are in desperate need to get this part replaced, then this would be the way to go.
