Hello everyone!

This is my first forum and looking to the experts for information we need. Our son was involved in an auto accident in Oct 2006 and the insurance company wanted to total the car. They have finally relented to fix it if a hood, front bumper and grill can be located. Our son's loves this car and with the limited production we know it will be difficult but should you know of anyone or any place, it would be very appreciated.

Thank you
Aida

NOT TRUE.  The front bumpers on TGP's are unique to the TGP's only, because they are the only ones to get a B4U-like appearance WITH composite headlights.  88-90 GP LE's and SE's won't work, neither will 91-93 GP's with B4U.  They are different front bumper/fascias and UNIQUE to the TGP.

Front bumper and fenders are the actual TGP specific things, the fenders have the flares and the room for the turn signals, and the bumpers WAY different, because of the headlights, and the hood can be from any 91-93 GTP or really any grand prix. Same with the Grill, any grand prix

he can use everything off of a 91-93 GTP with the exception of the front bumper covers and headlights/turnsignals.

Does anyone have an update on the donor cars that Invasion 1 mentioned?

You can use the hood off of a 91-93 Grand Prix GTP, or you can use a TGP one obviously.  You have to use a TGP front bumper though.  For lights, you can get those off of a TGP, or an 88-90 GP SE (SE's have fog lights).

Front Bumpers and Lower Valence are TGP specific.  But You Could Use a 91-93 GTP Lower Valence there isn't much difference.  And Its a Complete Bolt-On Replacement. :icon_biggrin:

I wish you luck, I hate Insurance Companies.

Yeah, I just couldn't figure out a way to work in the one member who claimed that adding a valance to his lightbulb kept it from overheating...

GOT2B GM

Asides from the TGP valance being two pieces, and the GTP valance being a stronger 1 piece design, there is no other differences appearance wise.

Umm... GM bumper is still available through through the Vintage Parts Warehouse, I believe located in the north Midwest of the US, I think its in one of the Dakotas.  You can call them, or the dealer can.  http://www.vintageparts.org/whyus.html  Not in the Dakotas.. Beaver Damn, WI.

Now these are the people I used to deal with when I worked the parts counter at the local GM Center.  I cannot recall the bumpers part number, but you can call the dealer, tell them you need the number for the 89 Grand Prix B4U bumper, vin V specific, and make sure it is for the turbo.  Then call Vintage and get a price, then compare it with the dealers price.  Freight may be expensive unless it goes to the dealer, but they will also mark it up.  Tell them your price and see if they match it, that way if its damaged in freight you don't have to deal with it.  I believe the cost to dealer was around $400 a year or so ago.  Good luck!

Hello everyone!

Everyone has been great in providing the information I have requested. Maddux31 you have been a great help with the knowledge and information you've provided thus far and the few parts you have a available. But I have one last request from all of you, does anyone have a donor car without any front end damage. The repair shop doesn't have the time to look for the parts that are needed for the repair, and this is our last effort before the big decision has to be made regarding the car.

Thank you and hope to hear from you.
