OK, I got my calipers and brackets from malibuolds. I went today and got new rotors and pads. Here's my question... Why are the brake pads so much smaller than the rotor? I mean, why aren't they bigger to cover more area on the rotor? These pads aren't much bigger than the ones on my car now.

Because you don't need very much braking in the back. The rear pads are probably 1/2 the size of the front ones, but only need to do about 20% of the braking.
