They would probably physically work, but they are unnecessary. If they look as pictured, then it won't work as that's a different type of coil used on later model cars that still have distributors(4.3 liter mid 90's S-10's, GMC Jimmy's ,etc. have that style coil). The stock ignition system is fine for anything short of an all-out drag racing TGP that makes more power than a lot of people here make combined. For what it's worth, the 1997+ Grand Prix guys have cars running 9, 10, & 11 second 1/4 mile times on the stock ignition setups that are very similar to ours. The only thing different they run is a bit better spark plug wire.

If you need ignition coils, it's hard to beat the original AC Delcos as far as reliability is concerned. www.partsamerica.com (Advance Auto Parts, Checker Auto Parts, Schuck?s Auto Supply and Kragen Auto Parts) has the stock coils listed for $47.77. The cheaper coilpacks they carry probably perform fine, but I doubt they'll last nearly as long as the Delco ones.

Like Matt said anything other than the factory coils are unneccassary and frankly they are less reliable. Our spark system (coils, factory wires, and R42LTS plugs) is actually incredibly strong. I have used our coil packs with a different ICM on a couple of high performance V8 turbo setups that were in the 700HP range on my dyno when completed.
