Nice work on the hood dogbone. That engine bay looks 10x better with all the work you've put into it. :icon_mrgreen:

About the primer underhood...I can't remember if the hood on my TGP has primer underneath the insulator or not. I guess I'll take a look tomorrow. My aftermarket hood on my '93 GP is fully painted underneath. I can't remember if it was a GM hood or not. This car has had two hoods on it besides the original. I know the second replacement was GM, but I think this one might be aftermarket. Whatever it is, it fits and looks exactly like factory.

Thanks guys, mfewtrail you have any paint discoloring on the hood paint with the insulator off your 93GP?

I noticed 93luminaz34's hood braces look different than mine and TGP Nicks.

Anybody else have have the paint on their hood discolor without a pad?

No discoloring underneath or on top of the hood and the insulator has been off of that car for at least three years now. The NA 3.1 doesn't radiate as much heat though. I really don't think paint discoloration would be an issue with a Turbo GP. The only car I've seen with discolored paint due to underhood heat was on a Volvo with a larger turbocharger that was placed very close to the hood(it was about a 1/2'' from the hood).

Anyways, that insulator is installed from the factory for acoustical purposes only. I'm guessing it only makes a small difference in temperature of the paint underhood. I guess I could do some temperature testing to see what, if any, difference the insulator makes. I'll try to figure out something before this week is over...
