I just bought my TGP a few weeks ago. It had sat up for about a year  and only driven around 200 miles or so in that time.
Here's my problem:

My car started surging/hesitating at Wide Open Throttle ONLY after it had warmed up. When it sat over night and I started it in the morning to go to work, it would run great. But after it heated up, it would start the surging crap. So I began to troubleshoot using the GM service manual for the car, but came up with nothing. The turbo is building boost well and the crossover pipe is new.

Now after it warms up, it starts surging at almost any throttle positiion and I can't figure it out. Has anyone else had this specific problem? I have read previous post on hesitation but nothing specifically like this.

Just wondering if anyone could help me, I'm kinda in a bind because my wife ran over a curb in her car and ripped a brake line out so were down to one car. I do have both GM manuals, but they are not very user friendly (at least not to me).

Thanks in advance...

Replace your plugs and wires with original AC Delcos, and see if that helps if not check your motor mounts and dog bones, if your engine-tranny is grounding out it causes a false ground loop to the computer and really messes thing up.

Check your ground wires and straps from the body to the motor and batt.
Also your Throttle possitioning sensor(TPS). and your idle air control valve. Check you o2 sensor and oil pressure and fuel pressure cool and after its been heated up.

if you got an auto pull you tcc connector out and try it, this is a free check!

TCC connector? Can you tell me waht it is and where it might be located?

the tcc connector is the torque converter clutch.. it is the electric four prongg connector in the front of the trannie... I would do this and check your coil packs.. i am having the same problems with mine and i am trying new plugs on tues... i was told by several mechanics i deal with regularly that it is a gm and gm's only like GM PARTS... (ac delco plugs - rapidfires are rec...)
If you get your running top notch without the surging, lemme know please!!
thanks

the TCC is directly overtop of your vaccume modulator or if you have a TGP its behind your turbo to intercooler hose.  just pull out the 1" fat connector go for a drive and see if you rpms sit at 1000 at idle in drive and they don't drop off while slowing etc...  Its been said that Jeff M's chip has alleviated the drop off I just want to know how?? :?:   I am definitely getting the chip but I want all bases covered as far as fuel, spark, sensors, suspension, etc.......

hey...

i got mine to stop surging today... replace your plugs and wires with gm parts.. i used acdelco rapidfire plugs (resistor #8) and pep boys wires.. (cheapies from local parts store) and it is running fine now.. lets see how long it lasts!
