If it runs good then for $1800, you should be able to look past the cig burns lol. Actually, wasn't there a product that was on TV a few years back that repairs leather and fabric rips? One of those Billy Mayes products.

haha yea. We sell some kits at o'reilly and such as well.
I'm not TOO worried about it, i'm happy i'm getting this car. The car is still producing boost as well. The only thing is it sounds like it's gotta bad lifter. But oh well. It's gonna sit for a while and get some work done to'er anyway, so replacing lifters will be on the list

No kidding though it's the nicest red 90 I've seen in person...It's also the ONLY red 90 I've seen in person, but Nick keeps his immaculate inside and out. Which is why Im hiring him as a full-time cleaner for my car this summer lol.

ya when i tore apart the 3.1 from the '92, it was still running great, but it was out, so why the fk not, right? It had been running perfectly fine...so i thought. One of the intake lobes was completely worn down and completely round, it just looked like another carrier that should've had bearings to hold it in the block  :icon_lol:

Actually that same issue occurs with alarming regularity on these cars, something you should definitely look into.

yea i'm aware of that. I'm VERY VERY VERY Familiar with the MPFI engines  :icon_mrgreen:

Seriously, in the town i was in when the '92 was a daily, anytime a 3.1 car came up to o'reilly they would call me up there to come inspect it and see what was wrong with it. 90% of the time i could figure out what it was over the phone by them telling me 2-3symptoms. I was ripping the thing apart on damn near a weekly basis. Well now that car, there's not ONE thing that isn't modified...seriously...lol. Some of ya'll i'm sure know about the doors. Now the floorpans, shit everything has been modified to some extent.

Nice looking TGP. Did the previous owner mention whether or not that car has been repainted?

EDIT: I would listen to the car with a cheap stethoscope(I know you guys should have them at Oreillys). The injectors on the MPFI cars can be so damn loud sometimes that they sound almost like a ticking lifter.

thanks matt!

And yea, there's not really a ticking from the engine that i could hear. I mean there is, but yea, i'm used to it from the 3.1 i had before. But i can hear in the exhaust there's something that's off. I know it's common for 3.1's to smooth out a cam lobe and lose an injector or two. Since it'll be sitting i've got a few things i wanna do to it, mild cam and injectors and such.

oh, and it's original paint. There are a FEW TINY spots that give it away
