we've had a pretty nice winter so far but yesterday we got dumped on.  definately the most snow we've gotten all winter yet.  i can hardly even see my Regal it just looks like one big white lump.  tomarrow i gotta shovel all of the snow out of the way so i can pull the R/T out of the garage, then i'm heading up to Gillette with an open downpipe :)  i'll have a test pipe welded in while i'm up there.  500 miles round trip!

thankfully it will be in the 40s by Sunday, and the high on Tuesday is 60 so all this white stuff won't last long.

btw, i will be posting some pictures on Sunday night.  and i don't mean the R/T :icon_wink:  stay tuned....

drove the car for the first time just a few minutes ago around the block.  it's running minimum boost (short vacuum line between the wastegate can and nipple on compressor outlet).  it runs like a bat out of hell!  i'm guessing minimum boost is around 7psi.....i can't even imagine what 15psi is going to be like!  it shifts PERFECT, clutch feels soooo nice  :icon_biggrin:  my Regal GS is faster, but my R/T as it is right now would give it a damn good run for it's money.  at the stock 11psi i'm guessing my Regal GS wouldn't have a chance.

time to go get this thing registered, put some plates on it and add it to my insurance policy.

Jerm's car is an entirely different beast.  with the stage-I LWP cams and 3.50 FDR, you really have to bring the revs up high to get out of the hole quick (and boy it does, and thanks to the 3.50 FDR it has NO traction problems).

my car on the other hand is much more responsive.  it revs alot quicker....not sure if that's because of the difference in cams or what.  he also has mods over mine - ported exhaust manifold, complete 3" mandrel bent exhaust w/no cat/Ultraflo muffler, +20 injectors, Accufab AFPR, no balance shafts, K&N filter, titanium valve spring retainers and FWDP lifters blah blah blah.  i think he's only running 10psi right now because any higher and the OTC scanner shows KR.  high octane gas makes the KR go away, so i'm not sure what the issue is there.  his car is definately faster than mine, BUT if i were to put in some +20 injectors, Walbro 255 fuel pump, AFPR and raise the boost to 15psi i'd probably take him.

anyway

i've VERY VERY happy with how this project has turned out  even with minimum boost it has no problems smoking the tires from a 10mph roll on. and that's not by slipping the clutch out - i'm talking just stabbing the throttle while going 10mph. and unlike my old T2 GTS, this thing just keeps pulling harder and harder as the RPM goes up.

i drove the car up to Gillette last night (250 miles) and it runs perfect! trip computer showed 28.5mpg/average when i got into town. i drove up with an open downpipe which got to be very annoying lol. the engine sounds so nice and smooth, suspension and brakes feel great! the only issue is that all of my power steering flluid leaked out. i know the previous owner glued the return line nipple back onto the reservoir so i'm not sure if it's leaking from there or the return line itself. i don't think it's the high pressure line because i didn't see a big mess of PS fluid sprayed everywhere. i also checked the motor oil this morning and it didn't burn any at all and the oil still looks clean/brand new.

some of the guys on the RMCGP are hoping to schedule a dyno day at Kenny's shop.  i'm really hoping to reach 200-215whp with a MBC set at the stock 11psi.

well here is an underhood pic now that i've gotten everything done and reinstalled the intercooler hoses and airbox.  it will look alot better once i get the valve covers, intake manifold, and valley cover powdercoated red (the factory color).  it doesn't even have a valley cover right now (the piece that covers the spark plugs between the valve covers).  and i haven't even powerwashed the engine bay yet.

sorry the pic is kinda big....

well i guess that sums up this thread.  thanks for looking!

Any chance you're looking for a 1987 Shelby Turbo Z? there's one for sale for $850 locally!

Josh picked up another turbo Dodge about a week ago, so I doubt he's looking for another so soon. ;)

i've put almost 2000 miles on the car now and it runs GREAT!!!!!! oil is still nice and clean and hasn't burnt any. very fun to drive and pretty quick even with minimum boost. i don't have a boost gauge but it just has a short vacuum line from the fitting on the compressor outlet straight to the wastegate can. maybe ~7psi?

i did get one good (albeit short) race with a nice looking early 90s fox body Mustang convertible. it looked well taken care of but i'm pretty sure it had to have been completely stock. it was a definately a 5-speed. the guy was looking all cool with the top down and was edging forward at the red light so i figured he wanted to go. i out launched him and kept his front bumper right at my rearview mirror. he stayed right there until i got to the top of 2nd gear and then i started walking away from him and he gave up haha. he wouldn't even look at me at the next light we got together. of course, when the light turned green he did a big 'ol burnout while i slowly pulled away. why race again when i already proved my point?  :icon_mrgreen:  i can't wait to get a 3-bar cal, Walbro 255, +40 injectors, adjustable AFPR and turn the boost up 18psi.  after that i'm going to need a FMIC and T3/T04E .63 A/R stage-II turbine + 50-trim compressor.  first thing though, is complete 3" mandrel bent exhaust.  right now it has the stock exhaust system with a test pipe in place of the cat, and no muffler.

and yes, i did buy another old school TD :icon_razz:  '87 Shelby CSX - car #667 of 750 made.  i'm going to keep this one relatively stock.

still kinda wish i could replace my Regal GS for a Turbo STE.  TGPs are way cooler than the newer GTPs or GS IMHO.

to find a turbo anything you need to go to the dark side dodge mass produced turbos in the 80's. I think there was a turbo option on every body style in one year or another. They even turboed mini vans in 89 and 90.

I wish they had turboed everything. A turbocharged slant six or 318 or 360 Chysler Fifth Avenue would be the bomb.

You got me on my wording I should have said fwd. I don't think rwd anymore on mopars from the mid 80's to the late 90's. I have been rwd free since 91 for my daily drivers.
