The thermostat is probably stuck open.  Get a new one from the local auto parts store, they are only $5.

what's weird is that if it's stuck open, it's only been stuck open since after we fired her up a few times last night  She definitely got hot the first few runs, but then I noticed the last time last night and today that she doesn't. I'll pick up a new one anyways, takes all of 5 minutes to swap anyways.

My GP SE was doing the same thing when I got it.  If you let it idle for a few minutes, it would get good and warm (210 or so), but if you went and drove it, it would only get just a hair above 100*.  New T-stat fixed it.
For less than 5 minutes and $5, you really can't go wrong.

Talk with the guy that set your car up. He might have set up the chip for a lower temp thermostat then normal. So make sure you confer with him first.

I know the old Tstat had a tiny hole in it, so it may be a 180* Tstat. I should still hvae it, so I'll talk with him and save it, but I put a regular 195 in for now

Horrible picture, but you can believe me now!!! We put on a coolant bottle from a later car so it's not underneath a bunch of crap. this picture was today after I finally bolted the battery back in and put the washer bottle back on

Any pics of the new coolant lines from the new bottle? And what car did you swipe the new bottle from?

I believe 91-93 GP and CS came with that coolant bottle.  Not sure of the other W's.

Didn't someone else do this? I;m looking for the pics to see how I could do this. Did you have to move anything under the shroud or did it fit fine?

it fit fine, although we had to drill a hole on the strut tower to put a bolt on, but that's it. We stole the hose from the TGP stock bottle, and it was long enough to go up to the radiator cap, well actually way too long, but i just ran it around the neck a few times til I can trim it right. the hose just comes off the front of the bottle and connects to the cap, that's all. Oh, and either drill a hole in the strut brace bar, or get one with a predrilled hole to mount it, but that's all it takes

We took it from the 93 international that Ken is stashing at my house for now

Matt (93luminaZ34) had one when he posted up pics of his TGP pretty recently.  That particular coolant bottle is supposed to replace the "beauty shroud" that we have on our TGPs.

hmmm, I dont think mine had the beauty shroud on it before... Maybe that's why I think this bottle looks better, hiding the computer and such  :icon_lol:

EDIT: Nope, it didn't, so this serves two purposes: hiding the computer and such, and being a ton more easily accesible

It also frees up room for a bit better intake than just a filter slapped on the turbo. ;) I'm going to remove the stock overflow on mine later this week and install a 91-93 style overflow bottle.
