as far as installing a sunroof on car like the TGP-pre 97 Grand Prixs also...it's very straight forward, make measurments by using your other TGP that has a sun roof or a friend's pre 97 Grand prix, but always leave about 1/4 inch extra metal on the roof so you can balance and adjusts the mount rails for the sunroof so it's straight and wont ever have issues.
you'll need a "ROTOZIP" or equivilant hand held electric saw and a dremel with various bits. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR TIME!!!!!
I'll try to email you more once I get another non-sunroof TGP and I can do a step by step install for ya. I've done a few installs before and while they are a great way to a completely screw up your roof, if you do it right it'll be GREAT!!!
let me know what your plans are, if you really want a sunroof but don't want to do it yourself let me know where you live I might be able to do it for you

hey, im in beaver dam, wisconsin not too far from u!  have u put the moonroof in other NON grand prix cars?  i offered this guy who had the tgp $500 since the battery and broken parts seemed to had dissapeared since i was last there and noone knew where they went, so i said if u can track that stuff down i would offer the $700 back up but no response so i figure its not gonna happen. but i still have the moonroof. thinkin i might put it in my 68  or 70 cougar? opinions?......scot

I think you need to get the patches to help you quit...lol  :icon_mrgreen:

as for you Scott, send me some pics of the cougar and the sunroof. because the curve of the roof might not match good enough to the glass to look decent.

my email is goten@Wi.rr.com

also, try again with the TGP guy, because that's a good deal on a TGP, as long as there's no actual rust or broken bumpers.

Umm actualy i am at 6 and thinking of that 5-speed car in Des Moines lol.  Figured find a donor car and convert it to 5-speed with that car so i have an autocross car too lol.  Then it would be the complete set with a 5-speed Muha ha ha!!!  That and a parts car would help since every car has a quirk or two.

don't forget you need a 3400 top swap car too...lol
wait, damn, the maroon one has the 3100...nevermind.
you should make that one the 5-speed, people always do the coupe swaps, but do a sedan and you shall be praised.....(by me ;-)

Here in Georgia, I rarely see any TGP's besides my own....although, I know of at least a dozen others besides mine in this state. ;)

I must have missed this part of your post Matt, I bought mine from Georgia in 04', I think, camden county, don't remember the name of the city. But I drove that thing with everything in God's name wrong with it, down here to central FL.  :ugone2far: Might be less one on your Georgia list  :icon_biggrin:

Jimmy, you actually just reminded me of another TGP that I had forgot about. It was near Camden county and had the turbocharger bypassed on it. That isn't the car you bought it is? I *think* it was red in color though...

Nope, Matt, mines Black, no sunroof, tan interior, cassette, 90'. you do have my VIN right.

it is true that the 89 TGP is the rarest, but the most rare model TGP is the Black 89 and the rarest TSTE is the Maroon one. there are way more red ones on the road than black no matter which year TGP it is 89-90.
that's why I want a red and a black TGP. I kinda want my White TSTE back but it's in good hands with my buddy Shifter23.
if you have any question about the diffenerences or changes between years ask him, he has one of everything. 89 red, 89 black, 90 red, 90 black, white TSTE, Maroon TSTE...plus maybe some parts cars on the way...lol  :deal:

The figures we have for 1989 cars indicate that there were an equal amount of Black & Red cars made for that year. ;) 1990's = who know's, I don't have nearly enough info on them to say whether or not there are more red or black. Seems like I have seen more Red than Black 1990's so far, but that doesn't mean much since I only have vins for about 160 1990 TGP's.

that may be, but who here has seen more black 89's over the black 90's?

I've seen a very equal amount of Black & Red 1989's. I'll count up my VINs for them and post how many are red/black later today. I'm working on a car right now(taking a food break)...
