I have had this turbo for quite a while. I was saving it for a spare but now no longer need it. It's a t25 center section that has been up graded with the big t28 compressor wheel. It has an inducer of 47.2mm and an exducer of 60mm( stock is 42mm inducer and 54.4mm exducer). The turbine shaft has also been up graded to the 76 trim version of the 53mm wheel. The turbine wheel is cast form inconel material for extreme duty applications. This turbo was fully re-manufactured by Garrett several years ago and has never been installed since. This turbo has the same specs as the disco potato but is a journal bearing turbo and not ball bearing. You can expect to make 280-300WHP with this unit and a proper tune...  :icon_mrgreen:    This is a real Garrett turbo, with authentic Garrett parts.   Asking $450.   Thanks

I hate to sound like an idiot but I don't think fully understand turbo hybrids. So it's a T25 center upgraded to GT28 trim, minus BB. So I'd need a T28 sized turbine and compressor housing, right? Sounds obvious but I feel like I always hear about people upgrading the center and keeping the T25 housings, but I don't understand how that's possible or what the benefit would be with the small T25 housings.

if it's a t25 center section that has been upgraded, all you should need is a t25 housing, yeah?

tempting.  someone on here is selling a t25 housing if i'm not mistaken

The benefit is you get a disco potato that bolts up to your downpipe and crossover.  You also don't need to change all your oil and coolant lines around.  You will need a new compressor housing (Super 60 right Adam?) and the Turbine housing will need to be machined out to match the bigger turbine wheel.  So some work will need to be done to finish it.

I can tell you one thing......Adam did my hybrid turbo and it was a huge difference over the stock turbo....same boost with less RPM's on the turbo means less work done on the intake air charge = less heat = more dense air=bigger boom in the combustion=more power and longer turbo life.......you basically traverse onto a better island of efficiency on the compressor flow map......I think. :)

Pretty much Ken. You will need a t3 super 60 compressor housing and matching turbine housing. You can modify your stock turbine housing from 42mm to 48mm to accommodate the larger wheel but you will still need the matching compressor housing. Some builders machine the tiny stock t25 compressor housing to match the larger wheel but that is not the right way to do it   :icon_twisted:   and it kills the turbos potential.   ;)   I can get the compressor housings and have the necessary tools to modify the turbine housing if needed....

The $750 includes modifying your existing turbine housing for the larger wheel, New compressor housing(.60 A/R) and a re-manufactured center section with a 1 year unlimited mileage warranty. The wastegate actuator and mounting bracket are extra. You can get them off ebay or I can get you one for an extra $100. There a little cheaper on ebay but if I'm going to warranty it I'm going use higher quality parts.

if you have it after i get my tgp painted, it's mine.  i can't justify spending the money when my new hood is supposed to be here tomorrow, then i have to pay to get the car painted.
