TGP Nick

I brought the TGP down to University Avenue in the Twin Cities to watch some street races last night/this morning and every time I go down there, there is a pretty heavily modified V6 Mustang that I have wanted to race.  So I brought the TGP down and talked to him, and we lined them up.
I got off the line decent and pulled a bit on him, and he stayed right there until about 3/4 of the way through the race, then he pulled on me!  I was shocked and disappointed to say the least.  He said he wasn't running any NOS, but my buddies I went down there with are pretty sure he hit the NOS there.  The race was probably around 1/4 mile long, I didn't look to see how fast we got going.

That was the only race I did last night.  When we went back home, we decided to hit the local "drag road".  It is a little over 1/4 mile long, starting at a pole, and going to a little white shack on the side of the road.  I did that, and I got to 102 MPH.  This time last year when my TGP was bone stock, I hit 111 MPH in that distance.  Needless to say, I am very disappointed with the way the car is running.  It has some issues, along with the turbo dying.

On the plus side, it was a pretty fun night down in the cities.  When we first got there, I spotted a late 90's Firebird and pulled up next to it and let off my BOV.  The guy driving the Firebird looked shocked for a couple seconds, then laughed and tried to get away from us.  It was hilarious.  Needless to say, it was a pretty fun night, despite the cars poor performance.

Nick get that turbo fixed before you do some serious damage.  I would not be racing that car until you get it fixed..just my 2 cents.

SN97 4.0 liter v6 stangs run 14.9 from the factory.  I'm not surprised you got beat especially on a turbo that is shot.  Many of those v6 stangs with simple bolt ons and a good driver are low 14 cars.

Ford has really raised the standard for under 20k sportscars.  The new camaro is supposed to get a 296 hp 3.6 liter v6.....but a curb weight of 3700 lbs.... :icon_cry:  I don't expect them to be all that fast......but the power is impressive for that small v6 ;)

Good luck on your next race and be safe, I'm glad to see you guys are doing it away from traffic and pedestrians.

Nice run for a tired turbo attached to a non breathing 3.1.
Get a rebuilt TC or upgrade it and have at it again!
