WTF is that a turbo in that thing?  Man you have been gone a while?  welcome back,  BTW I bought the same van, 98 tran sport with a 3400 for our car pool.  Gets 26 mpg with 6 people.  Watch out for the hood cancer, the hood is AL and the paint does not hold up well!

this has no hood cancer and yes it is turboed and has a 3800 swap, i did it all myself.

i ran a 15.0 at the track on 4psi this past weekend

What would it have ran stock with the 3400? high 17 low 18?  Looks nice, Way better choice of a sleeper than a dust buster.

id say mid 18s stock, there was a chrysler town and country that ran a 19 sec pass IIRC, he just went down there for fun im pretty sure he worked at the track thats why.

the tgp is just chilling, project on hold i guess dont really know what im doing with it.

well you did a 3800 swap in that van so take that old 3400 and swap it into the tgp  :icon_eek: that is something you can do!

ya everyone knows the 3.1 top end stays with the car, beside mne outflows a 3400 by far anyways...

How is a .3 more liters of displacement gay?  The 3400 is a far superior motor to the gen II, better cross webing main bearing support, rollercam, roller rockers, better flowing heads, less heat and more power the list goes on.  What is not to want here?  I can understand if you have a cherry TGP wanting to keep the genII for preservation, but from what I know if your tgp it is hardly stock even though it is very nice.  Just a suggestion.....besides if you are looking into a top end swap might as well swap out the entire engine it is not that hard if you have done a top end swap you have done all the hard work already.  The 3400 runs off the same CPS, same ignition box and module wiring, all you need is a different front motor mount and AC bracket.......

Have fun with the van, I'm sure it surprises a few people.  It actually looks nice with those wheels and lowered etc....

I was somewhat joking. ;)  I think its really cool that he's trying to keep the originality there by keeping the stock plenum.  Its also a much better looking motor IMO.  Yes, you would get better performance out of a 3400, but the 3.1s are so much cooler.

and like i said my 3.1 has so much work done to it, extrude honed intakes and a 62mmtb up top,  my heads have almost 2g's into them and are far superior to a 3400
