just out of curiousity, if i DID go with a supercharger & 5 or 6 speed (im REALLY leaning toward the 6 speed because i can get one for 300 or less) trans, would my mpg suck ass even when i drive it nicely?

the words TGP and driving nicely just don't go together very well for me, hence my 16.8 MPGs...

But why supercharge, and if you can go 6spd that would probably be better, but have fun mounting and getting everything to work with each other on that, I only know of 1 person so far to go 6spd in a 1rst gen w-body, I assume you are talking F40 trans?

The F40 6-speed is a LOT of work and takes a lot custom fabrication to make it work FYI.

Why would you want to supercharge it?

ive just always wanted a roots style supercharged 60*v6 since the first time i saw one mounted to a 3800. i know the 3800s get good mpg with a tune due to the tall gearing but without that gearing would we be talking about v8 gas mileage? from my understanding the f40 will bolt up, just requires everything else to be customized to fit the application, if this is the case i will be HAPPY to do the swap, considering its f-ing rediculous trying to find a 5 speed within 300 miles of me for less than $500!

lol the only reason it's that good is I have had some highway mileage lately, when it's all city I normally average around 15ish...lol

do you drive it like its stolen? what kind of mpg do you get if you are just cruising around all slow like, or do you not?

TGP Nick

When my TGP was 100% bone stock, I was getting 18 MPG with it.  But that was 100% stop and go city driving.  On the highway I averaged 31.1 MPG on the only roadtrip I ever took it on lol.  I haven't checked to see what it gets now.

ya I will still get 30 on the highway too, but city, I don't exactly drive it like I stole it, but I sure don't baby the gas pedal either....lol

honestly, if you plan on supercharging a 60degree there is a kit that was made for the 2.8l engines. But please do not put it in a tgp or ste, save those for what they are, a turbocharged grand prix... get some 500 dollar grand prix that needs an engine and do it to that... please....

oh it wouldnt be on a tgp, i dont actually own a tgp & personally have never seen one with my own eyes. this would be on a grand prix/lumina/z24 with 3.1 or 3400

my 5 speed car is up to 14.8 mpg when i drive it normally.
