air filter

I am looking for the k&n part number for the round air filter that comes straight off the turbo.  Thanks

You can use either RU1760 or RU1770.

Or ru-1810 or ru-1390.

The differences are length, shape and cone size.

there are others that fit but you must have a 90 deg bend and you need to measure to make sure it will clear the intercooler.  I had a couple intakes lying around from past projects so I didn't have to do the trial and error method.  No difference in performance other than drawing air from the bottom of the car VS right at the turbo where it is generated.  Plus polished intakes look scweeeeet!

So which is better: drawing air right at the turbo or from underneath the car?

of course drawing air from underneath is better,  colder is better plain and simple especially for a turbo car.  I really didn't want to start an issue on how much its better and where are the dyno results etc..... Thats why I said no difference in performance but in reality it will be. :lol:

Looks nice, Problem might be on rainy days. It's wide open down there.
You get into heavy rain and the water is bound to be sucked right up into the turbo. I ran a custom cold air intake on my red TGP and it even held a little water. Have you had any problems in the rain?
How for does it go down?

its rained and I haven't have a problem but who knows!? You cold always use AEM bypass valve You can cut the intake pipe to your liking its up to you.  Personally I am going to use the U-bend that originally was used to draw air from behind the headlight passenger side and couple it to the bottom of the intake pipe and run another pipe somewhere in the front for mass/ram air.



I Know its simple to just slap on a filter but I like to see :shock: when people look in to my engine bay.  LOOKS and POWER!  I am a show off! :wink:
