New Rims Hitting Front Calipers, Any Solutions?

Well I finally got my car up and running after it has been sitting for 4 years, and my restoration of my TSTE is on its way.  Anyways I found a great deal on some Pontiac rims and tires on craigslist and decided to buy em for $300.  I needed new tires for my stock white rims, so I bought these gold rims with the silver lip.  They are 16" and the are the right bolt pattern, with the tires being 260/60/16, the tires fit fine.  The guy I bought them off before said he can't remember what they were off, but it was a grand prix or grand am that he recalled. The new rims bolt to the back fine, but in the front the new rims will not bolt to the hub because the brake caliper is hitting it.  Have any of you guys found a way to solve this problem?  Are there any kind of different hubs or calipers available that would possible give me the clearance I would need.  I didn't have time today to take any pictures, but any kind of help would be awesome.  I know I can just use different rims, but these ones look real nice on my TSTE.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

The rim offset is probaly different on those rims compared to the factory ones. I had that issue when I put my 01 grand prix rims on my TGP. I would like you could 1 buy wheel spacers or 2 grind down the caliper little by little till it stops rubbing on the rim. Other then that I dont know. The caliper should have plenty of material that u could break out the grinder. I would see what other people have to say on this.

If you're just going to daily drive it with no hardcore drag racing or auto-crossing, run spacers.  If you do plan to do any of the above, grind it until you find it to stop rubbing.

I would run spacers + longer/stronger studs depending on how much of a spacer you require.

Thanks for everyone's help, I went to the store and bought some 5/16" wheel spacers and that gave me enough clearance to install the new rims.  I'm going to the Pontiac dealership tomorrow to see if they sell longer studs, once again I appreciate everyone's help!

Contact ARP for studs, somewhere in MICH by you down river (right?) you should be able to find them.

The answer is in your offset - those are 1997+ GP rims :icon_wink:
