Hey Guy's i have a 1990 TGP Mclaren with 76000 miles , I would like to know where to start by adding more HP and torque in this already Small beast 3.1 V6 Engine

WOW, I am surprised that the mods did not move this to the performance section. But anyways, a stock TGP puts out about 205hp. With a good tune and an airfilter on the turbo you can get around 250hp. Next I would remove the cat and mufflers and add a resonator in place if the cat. That should be good for 10+hp. Next I would do the a/c fin mod and wrap the lower and upper charge pipes. That should bump you another 5hp. Now you have just about maxed out the 22lb injectors, so another tune with larger injectors is needed. That should add another 5-20hp depending on how hot the tune is. Next a larger turbo will be needed, a 2871r should put you over 300hp at the wheels but your 4t60 is not going to like that. I would use an external cooler with 30% more flow capacity than the stocker. That will help keep the trans temps in line. Hope this helps... :)

My goal is 350hp,some of the things planned are
larger injectors
bigger turbo
no exhaust
intercooled
water/meth
Cam
tune
no p/s
Ported heads,exhaust and intake manifolds
Emissions delete
Different or ported TB

That's off the top of my head.
350hp on streetable boost(12-15psi)is the goal,we'll see if it becomes a reality.
I'm going to try and stick with the stock heads/intake,not sure if they'll flow enough air though and I don't want to just jack the boost.
This engine will be in a fiero, not a TGP though.

walbro or equivelent 255 l/hr pump

28ish # injectors

tune

2.5 mandrel bent exhaust

5spd swap with Spec stage 3 clutch so you can put the power down without assploding your 4t60

This setup at 8 psi has dyno'd at just over 300 hp and 400 ft/lbs to the wheels (kuntzies old setup)

And honestly , I would not stick a Gen 2 pushrod V6 in a Fiero. The only reason I'd keep in a TGP is to save a bit of originality.

You be WAY further ahead with a 3400 or LX9 3500 and turboing that in the Fiero.

Unless you got the whole car for $50 and your entire budget is only ~$2000. :)

Then it's a hellova start  :)
My goal isn't power at all,it's about 3rd or 4th down on the list.
The fact the engine is ready for more power is just gravy, and the good deal I got on it allows me to spend half of my budget on rebuilding/upgrading the powertrain and the other half on the turbo.

If I had gotten ahold of a 3900 car for $50 i'd be all over it right now probrably.

walbro or equivelent 255 l/hr pump<<<<<<<< not sure what this is besides a fuel pump is it external ?

28ish # injectors <<<<<<<< i can do this for sure, thanks

tune <<<<<<<<<< workin on this one i think from Adam

2.5 mandrel bent exhaust <<<<< started on this part not sure what Mandrel is.

5spd swap with Spec stage 3 clutch so you can put the power down without assploding your 4t60<< won't go there not enough funds yet

Yeah,that's me.
There is another guy that started to attempt it in a fiero, and gave up due to naysayers.
There is also mr. Jacobs over on pennocks who has one in and running (with boost issues,i've pointed him here for a chip.)
And another guy was attempting it,fell ill and is having one of the fiero swap guy's do it.

jacob is running basically stock, installing a manual wastegate control etc.. now. along with freeflow exhaust and filter.
I just need a new engine/trans and this fits the bill (cost=50$ for car,no title, rusted out) I plan to do as much as I can within my budget to get some power out of it but reliability is first.

The other guy is building for power i'm pretty sure, topend swap etc..
If you guy's are interested I can provide links to the build threads.

Well I'm new here and when I first saw the article about the turbos G/P they claimed 405 horsepower but heard when they went into production they dropped 'em down to 305HP what mine is supposed to have.  Mine is completely stock... still with original tires from 1989!!!
