Is it the turbo motor? The turbos are a little better than the non-turbo but there not to impressive. Any more info on the car?

Also make sure there are no oil leaks and that the services have been performed and are up to date because if not they get pricey to maintain. And make sure there are no electrical problems because thats a difficult subject on a saab.

If its been taken care of and will continue to be then it would be a very dependable vehicle.

The car is in Italy with me.  It has sat for 1 year plus, it is a US spec car.  The lady selling it has wanted 6k since it was put for sale.  only 3 people have looked at it.  It needs some buffing, and the interior has some condensation, it also needs all new front lights.   She owes $4500 in storage fees and that goes up every month.  I'm going to test drive it tonight.  I am not going to offer more than 3k. Yes, it is a turbo 5 speed.

The only thing I can think of is to look for fluid leaks and maybe chewed up wires from sitting. And also ask about the timing belt depending on miles, if original and with more than 50k plan on changing it. IMO take a good light with you and check it very thoroughly. And make sure its safe to drive tires, brakes, etc...

No test drive tonight, new tires, no leaks.  Will check fluids before test drive.

If I get it Ill take some pics.

Here is the story today....The guy who is selling it got his house broken into and the keys were stolen.  To get a new key could be as much as $1000 (has acomputer chip in it).  Also I found out that the MAF was bad that is why it wasnt shipped back to the US.  I checked the fluids they looked & smelled fine.  However the car seems to be stuck in reverse (Getrag 5-speed) This isnt a problem I am being told.  More to follow as the story unfolds.  At this point I am going to offer $100.00 for the car or it gets crushed.   Oh yea, and there is no title as it was stolen also.

From that information, it sounds like that car is more of a hassle than it's worth.

What's the scrap value for a car like that over there worth?

It will cost her 150 Euros to get it scrapped (the Italions get you both ways buying and selling)  We are all surprised she was able to leave the country owning a vehicle in Italy.  She is "supposedly" sending the title and getting a key made.  If I get it for $500 / $1000 I can easily flip it for a profit.

If she has to pay 150 to scrap it, she should just take 250 profit from you and call it a wash.

Once I get the keys I'll see how bad it may be, With only a bad MAF, and some cleaning it could be a diecent car.  I have mad Patience.....

The woman selling it is on CRACK!  She still wants at least 5K for a non running car with no keys..........in 30 days that car becomes a paperweight (the Italions dont play around).
