Ok, My car loves the attention and is breaking faster then I can fix it.   I bought this car to save gas and miles on my 3/4 ton Chevy.    Now that I fixed the fuel hose problem ($45)  I just found my HVAC heater pipe assembly leaking from the bottom of the car near the crank pulley. Who thought putting a steel heater pipe was a good idea?

Anywho, I found Dorman has one (626-101) but their website and all of the part stores say it only fits 1989's.  It looks like it would work on my 1990 just fine.  I cant be the only one with this problem.  What do you folks think, is there a major difference between the two production years that this will not work?

If there is a major difference, what is a viable part number that I can source to get this beater with a hair dryer on the road again?

if you dont care about the "beater"  cut the pipe and run a rubber hose w/ clamps.

It would probably work, but cutting out the bad part and replacing with rubber hose is quick and easy. I did it on my old 89 GP and never had an issue.

They also have a 626-100 which is for 91-93... Why is 1990 so different?

I will compare the two and order the closest one.  Even though it's a beater, I don't mess around when it comes to vital fluids. Lol

Stop calling it a beater.  It's offensive. . ;-)

If neither work, a rubber hose and clamps works fine.  I can't see why it wouldn't work though.  It's just a steel pipe with two pieces of hose on it.

Sorry Heartbeat no offense intended to your user name or the other TGP owners.

I've attached a copy of the dorman catalog pages for reference.  Might help another owner.

I ordered the GM part #10145142 Dorman 626-100.  We shall see what shows up and if it is correct.  The brackets are in different positions between the two.
