Quote from: 90TGPGirlThanks!
It must be the oil cooler that I need then...it's just hanging under the right fender.
I've been on Summit's web page before.  Is there a way to look up parts by vehicle?
Thanx!
I am pretty sure that the cooler in the fender well is a tranny cooler. You can get a stock one for a Z34 that mounts on the rad support. or you can get a B&M soopercooler for ~$65, thats what i have on my monte as you can see in these pics:

Hi Chris   I found a tranny cooler for you in Summit. It is almost the same thing as stock p/n BMM-70265  $45      Also I have ordered a Perma-cool PRM-19114 for the main puller fan This baby will do 2950cfm and only costs $89. and it is 14" and will fit. It will mount directly to the core with nylon feed thru straps.  Check it out, Rob

Thanks for all the help!  I did manage to find a tranny cooler that is basically OEM, but is considered high performance.  It's a Derale Cooler.
I also noticed that I might need a new condenser, mine is pretty bent up.  And maybe I'll go ahead and get that PermaCool fan.
I got my Top Gun chip and 160 t-stat yesterday, the air filter and breather tube are on their way!  Yay!!
Anyways...a new probem has arose...the Anti-Lock light keeps flashing in my car and every time I press on the brake I hear this weird noise.  What can that be?

Thanx again for all the help!

TGPRobNY

Hi Chris....  The "noise" is actually the brake pump building pressure.  The brakes themselves are a problem, especially the master.  I just rcvd my rebuilt master from Prior. Are you sitting down.....it was around $700  The rears are under engineered and sometimes just freeze. I'll be doing the master today.....come over and help me bleed them.  LOL  Easier said then done!

The top gun chip and K+N airfilter make these cars scream!

The brakes themselves on my car seem fine...I mean they work well.  So, the Anti-Lock light flashing means I have a $700 problem??  Geez!!

First go under the hood and pull you abs relays and fuses and clean the contacts.  If that doesn't work, pull out the pigtail under the brake fill and clean it and put it back.  Also you may want to put on a new stop lamp switch $12.  I had the same anti-lock flash with intermittant red brake light and it was the stop lamp switch.  The part is cheap but a MF to put in.  Its under your dash just about the steering assembly.

Have been down for a while, trying to get a few things done out here for people.  90TGPGirl, if your ABS pump motor comes on every time you put your foot on the brake, and cycles on often while the brake is held, and your ABS light is on it is your brake accumulator, very common to go on these (same on the ones of the Buick T-Types/GNs too).  GM just jacked the price threw the roof so best to get one from Prior, their price runs less than a 1/3 GM?s retail.  As for $700 for the ABS unit, that is insane, I know a few owners over the years that paid from $350 to only $450 max, if this is the case then we need to get a bunch of us together and petition Prior to not jack the price up so high and so fast (cost of living etc fine BUT!!).  Their ABS unit is awesome, aside from an excellent rebuild, they correct the only non-wear problem with the unit, that is to replace the cast housing that holds the pump motor/accumulator/pressure switch with a nice solid piece of billet aluminum, nice job!

Well, gotta go, good luck, your getting things handled well it sounds, I too am glad for all the great help here for new owners, it sure helps my email in-box!!

Okay, I am trying to find an accumulator.  I guess while I have the spare cash, I should just go ahead and order one.  I can't find it though.  I see everything else like the control module, speed sensors, but nothing called an accumulator.  Is there another name for it or somethin??

Jeff M

Facing the ABS unit, look to the left and way down, inside the metal heat shield, there is a round 4 inch ball black with yellow print on it, accumulator.  Prior Reman is on the net, and sells these, that should help you??

Couple years back I did my brakes all around, never had a light flash once before I replaced them.  That same day, my anti-lock light started flashing, and every time I step on the brake I hear the pump.  I am gonna try to bleed them really well in the next couple of weeks, and hopefully that's whats causing it, however, knowing my luck, I just know I'm gonna have to buy the accumulator sooner or later.   :?

Quote from: 90TGPGirlI measured the fan...it's 11 1/2" in diameter.  Wouldn't it be hard to squeeze anything bigger in there without it rubbing the brackets?
I've been looking thru different catalogs and websites and the smallest fan I could find was 13" in diameter.
I just found this:
http://www.perma-cool.com/Catalog/Cat_page16.html
The first one 19010.  It's 10" in diameter.
Would this work?

I was re-reading this and I think you are referring to the condenser fan, the one on the front of the car between the condenser and the bumper, not the one on the back between the radiator and engine. If thats the case, I have a stock replacment one. Its used, but in very good condition. Its possible to upgrade this fan, but I'm not sure there is a huge point to it since it comes on if the a/c has high pressure or the engine is really hot.

My TGP is finally in the bodyshop all torn down.  The hood and right fender were removed to fix the dents...but when they took the hood off, they saw that it had a lot more damage than they thought.   It needs 8 hours of body time!  Ouch!  They told me that it would be easier to get a new hood, but they are like $1,500 bux!  SO...I opted to stay with the original hood and use lots of mud!  Anyways...just thought I'd share the progress.  My car should be on the road next week....I can't wait...but man...my wallet sure can!  But oh well, it's worth it.

Geez..it would be cheapter to modify a normal hood by cutting the holes in it. That's all they did anyway. :D You could even find a way to make it stronger. I noticed that the TGP hood is very weak in some spots.
