My HVAC controls don't work properly.  In that I mean that it's always stuck on defrost.  I replaced a vacuum "T"  near the cruise control unit that was bad and I traced the lines looking for anything conspicuous, but I didn't find anything.  I've heard of this problem before and was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it.

by the way...I just installed a Top Gun 160 chip and my car hauls pretty good now.  The boost onset and return after shifting are a lot better that the stock chip, and my car idles like a dream after doing the chip and x-over.  I can't wait to see what my times are like next fri at the dragway :D

Take a look at this. It may give you some things to look for. Read down through them.

The only other thing I can think of is to check the vacuum solenoids. I think they are under the passenger side of the dash. You should see a group of vacuum lines. If you get vacuum to this point, then either the control head, or the solenoids are bad. I've never seen this though. Also, check to make sure the fuses are good. If the unit lights up, then they should be but you never know.

Sorry don't have more help, the HVAC controls hardly ever go bad.
