The K&N filter# is RU-1810

I was wondering the same thing.  And if it is, do you need to remove the coolent tank to install the filter?

Which one is that?  The RU-1390 at www.turboste.com seems to be so large that you have to modify the coolant filler cap.  I would like something smaller so I don't need to cut anything.  Is the RU-1810 shorter?  Thanks.

I have the RU-1390 and all I had to cut was the piece of the coolant cap that sticks out for you to get ahold of. It's not really a big deal.

I got mine from a company on the internet(I think it was filters.com) for $34.95.

I didnt need to modify anything, just bolted right on it fits flush against the intercooler.

What is the differance between the two?

As far as I can tell one filter is round and the other is oval.  I just bought the round one, RU-1390, and it fit fine.  I needed to get a breather filter though.

The RU-1390 is actually an oval in shape.

olds1992

Is it oval, maybe I got the wrong filter.  The one I got from the parts store is about 7 or 8 inches in length, has about a 4 inch diameter and the mounting flange is angled slightly, and I am sure I told him to order RU-1390 instead of RU-1810.  I will have to see if I got the right filter when I get home.

Mountinf flange on the 1390 is angled 20*.

olds1992

Ok,  I got everything straightened out, they gave me the wrong filter.  I now have RU 1390, but my only question is, did yuo just mount it directly to the filter?  It looks to me that the rubber flange part is a slight bit bigger in diameter than the turbo inlet.  WIll the filter be ok if I just tighten the clamp on to the turbo?  Or should I put a piece of rubber between the fitler flange and the turbo for a tighter fit?

I am not sure I understand your question. You will slip the Filter over the metal portion of the turbo. This is the same place you removed the flexible stock hose from the turbo inlet. I would think you can use the old worm gear clamp that was on the original inlet hose to tighten it in place. I don't have one of those filters, but I don't think you will need a reducer. Anyone else who has this filter...please step in if I am wrong.
