My car shifts HARD as hell. is it supposed to do this or is it a sign of a unhappy tranny? Compared to my lumina and my monte it shifts much harder (not in a good way). I did a tranny service (filter/Fluid) and it still feels like it hist between gears really hard even when i am not getting on it.

I noticed a Checkvalve on a vaccume line going to the tranny.. Should i replace it or add another.. i know it like a vaccume and would shift like shit if it was getting boost to the vaccume source of the tranny.

Hope my tranny is not pissed. The car has needed lots of TLC i figure the tranny may need the same.

Not sure if this will help, but what the heck:
Check your upper engine mounts (dogbones) and inspect the bushings. If the bushings are trashed or partially missing, your engine will clunk hard while shifting; *very* noticable while driving. Replacements are about $15 each (got mine from autozone)

What do you guys think about the hard shifts in reverse?  My tranny shifts real nice under WOT and really haven't had any issues with it at all.  But the thing shifts real hard into reverse.  I did change my modulator and swapped it with the adjustable one.  Any ideas?
