Hi everyone.  Well the cavalier is running fine with the new turbo motor and i have the boost set to 4psi until the engine is broken into then i'll turn it up to 8.   But the only problem i am having is idling....its 50/50 when i come to a stop , sometimes it stalls, sometimes it idles, but really low about 500-600 rpm.   the problme is the stock TGP chip is for an auto and well i think it is trying to read that my engine is in drive while i am idling but of course i am in neutral since i have a 5 speed....can anyone help on getting mine flashed for a 5 speed? any info and help is greatly appreciated.  thanks again.

try PM'ing "god910" on here, he has a 5spd TGP and lives in the same state as the guy that does the chips for FFP...maybe he could have Ben copy his chip and then sell you one or something?? Just an idea.

I believe Michael owns FFP and Ben(aka Vegeta on the w-body forum) makes the chips for him..either way, Ben makes chips.

Ben does make chips, and last time I talked to him he didn't want to mess w/ TGP's at all, but I don't see why he wouldn't want to copy one.  I am getting the equipment soon myself, and wouldn't mind hooking up w/ Ben a few times, to talk.  [scratching chin] Might just have to go see him, and take the TGP w/ me.  We'll change his mind about TGP chips. Hey thanks for the help everyone.  god910.  I'll email or PM you to see if you can help me if any, I'll send money, etc... whatever it takes for your time and assistance.  this idle thing is getting to me.   2-footing at every light to keep the idle up is a headache and any help is appreciated.  thanks again.

Thank you for the link, I contacted them and are awaiting their reply.  Did most TGP owners who swapped to 5 speeds also have idling issues because of the 5 speed swap?

I believe only two people have performed the swap in TGP's...one was "TGPilot" on this board and he made his own chip for the car for it to run right I guess...and he also copied the chip for the guy that use to own god910's car IIRC

Darn, wrote to FPP website.  They said their chip is not for my turbo application.   TGPilot, if you are out there somewhere, I need your help pleeeeeease!  :D     This idling is giving me a headache, my only solution right now is cheating the throttle pin and lengthening it but the idle is still lumpy goin up and down...thanks again for the help guys...

can't you connect the wires that went to the auto shifter so it always remains in drive?  It would be just like you pulled the auto shifter into drive but it stays there all the time so it will always show a load.
hi-flow intake, straight pipe, dsm bov, 24lb inj,  polished upper intake, turbo, and frt valve cover.

Eprom programer, new eprom, chip socker, learn to solder,, and .bin editor.. THat's what you need and should get for your costom chip if you can't find someone to do it for ya. I would still get them if I were you to change things around if you ever get a different cam, gears, porting job, ect.

Just my two cents.

the thing is i don't have those wires that connected to the auto shifterthis was strictly a TGP engine slapped onto my current 5 speed in my cavalier  with just swapping the TGP ECM chips.  Everything runs great except the idle, we messed with the IAC sensor so now it idles too high, about 1400-1600rpm, which is better than having me to 2-foot it and keep it from stalling, btu nonetheless still annoying. I just might ahve to swap the whole computer out and  rewire it to attach to the TGP computer itself, curtis says he never had this problem when he swapped it into his first older red cavalier turbo.  I'll have to wait and see if we can get this thing to idle right first...
