Does anyone know what the two front power seats weigh??? [puts on a thermonuclear flame suite on] I was pondering the idea of replacing them for racing seats in the future. It was only an idea. Anyone know what the back seats weigh?

Not sure of the exact weight it is alot of unneeded weight...All I know is that I already have a set of Sparco seats for when I finally find a suitable TGP :D
2004 GTP -  3.8 Blown - Only modding for MPG.
1997 GTP  - 3.8 Blown - Too many mods to list.
1996 GTP - 3.4 DOHC - Twin to my 1997.
1995 SE - soon to be a 3.8 turbo car.
1990 TSTE x 2 white cloth
1990 TSTE x 1 maroon leather
1990 TGP - 5 speed.

I think the front seats are around 60 lbs each, the back seats aren't very heavy and will save you around 30lbs all together.

There is alot of unneeded weight in the TGP, i guess i'm kinda split on the idea of lightening a car for racing. Sure you could junk the console, seats, dash, carpeting, headliner, door panels, speakers, spare tire, but it wouldn't be very accomodating!

The drivers seat weighs 60lbs on the mark. The passengers seat in mine will weigh probably 5-7lbs less because it doesn't have the power adjust for front to back and height. Want to loose 105lbs with one change??? Swap to a 5-Speed. I weighed the Auto-Tranny...it was 200lbs with no fluid in pan. The 5-Speed weighs 95lbs with no fluid in the gear box. I wonder how much it would cost to ship that pig to someone in the country

Alot! $$$. funny thing is that RWD auto's typically weigh less (for cars) i can pickup a 200r4, but i can't pickup a 4t60.

If you can lift a 4T60 without dropping both your marbles on the floor...I would not mess with you ever!

I know everyone is going to say bullshi* to this but I used to know a guy who was always hauling motors for people, especially his boy. I watched him pick a Chevy 305 up minus carb. and oilpan and set it down on the tailgate of his truck. I was like WTF? I swear this freakin' guy looks like Paul Bunyon.

NO I believe you. My best friend's Dad when I was growing up could carry a complete Chevy 350 to the motor stand and hold it while his son would thread the bolts in the block. Only time I ever heard him grunt picking something up was a complete 454 off the ass end of his pick-up. The man was 6'8" and at least 350lbs of solid muscle! There was 5 kids in the family from 2years up to 16years old and he could carry all of them at once, plus me at 14years old. Funny part was my friends Mom was 5'1" and maybe 90lbs. Poor woman!
