Has anyone on here upgraded to the Garret t3 turbo? How bout anyone with a manual tranny in who's done it? How tight a fit is it, or are the housings pretty much the same size. What are the sizes of the pipes off the turbo to the intercooler and the x-over?

The T3's aren't all that big themselves, they can easily be made to fit in the TGP engine bay, I had a .48 trim T3 up until recently(sold it) and it was actually quite small...anyways, the size depends on the inlet/outlets of the turbocharger, I think most vary depending on trim size and whatnot...I believe only one guy on here has an actual TGP w/ a T3, but it's still being worked on by Jeff M...I think he's coming out w/ a turbo upgrade package later after testing and whatnot is completed..anyways, a couple things would have to be changed to utilize a larger turbocharger sucn as injectors, possibly the fuel pump, chip tuning, etc..anyways, I'm planning on doing a turbo upgrade when I buy the TGP from my father..he's actually asked me recently about fitting/making a larger turbo work on the car 8)

man, Jeff M is the Shiznit when it comes to these cars!  I can't wait till he finishes a few of his projects, headers, turbo kit :D   I think i may eventually look into getting a bigger turbo and the required parts to go with it.  I have a few other things in mind first of all.... new x-over, new chip, manual 5-speed tranny :)

Jeff M is making us headers??!?!?!? SWEET!!! Anyhow, as far as the T3 setup, its really not a bad swap to do. I've put them in much more crammped up engine bays, and I think getting them to adapt to teh plate would be a matter of a little fabrication. Anyone have a better knowledge of this? I've only slightly messed with this car so far. I will however be going into a little more modding over the wintr(depending on how the new Supra motor is progressing).

I've never heard Jeff mention anything about headers.... :?  :?  :? I know he's working on high-flow GEN II heads.

Are you sure he's working on a header project?

As far as bolting the T3 in, it would require a new flange to be welded on the crossover pipe, and I'm pretty sure you'd have to fabricate a new downpipe to bolt up to the exhuast side of the turbo.

Well i have done 3 upgrades, so far only one has gone as far as the car. First was a t25 hot section with a t3 cold it was easy, atleast i was told that, i just got a matched comp wheel in not completely sure of the inner working it was done by pros. Sadly  it was sold when my pm111 went out  before i installed it. The second which is on the car now is a t25 with a larger wheel and lightened shaft with a 4? clip. Now as for the latest mind blower, its a custom built t04b/e, 3inch inlet, 57trim, stage3 lightening, 63 ar, it uses the new wet plate system and is fitted with the bullit nut set. I was told its like a t48 its on its way with a tial 35mm dealta gate. sorry about being long winded but im new and just want to share all i have....

Thats kinda why I asked, I didn't think an E would really fit too easily.
