As for the rims, I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure they were after-market.  Lot's of chromed out parts under the hood with an MSD ignition.  They were making fun of a Firebird with it's hood open and no one around gaurding it because it also had an MSD ignition.  The owner of the Typhoon said "all you need is one person to screw the slightest thing up on that box".

I'm also pretty sure they were not from around here.  I think they were from Michigan.  They had come up for some event on the weekend if I recall correctly.  You're from DeKalb?  I live in Naperville.

perhaps i started the whole "competition" talk and i apologize...that is not what i intended it to be at all i was just pokin fun at another GM turbo nut in good taste........i also agree that we need to stick together and that way we can all be faster better and dominate the streets and strip :twisted:  im sure that all sy/ty owners can share some tricks with us and we can share with them . and yes making a TGP hit 12's is awesome so even if i am not close i congratulate anyone that can do it  :P ............(as long as he tells us how to do it) :)

By George, I think that's it!!  Please don't tell me that was Oakbrook where that show was held???  There was a show right under my nose, and I missed it???  I say that because it looks like the building that the Fiero Fest was held at a few months ago.

The white ty isn't mine. It belongs to John Gerber. I believe right now its either the 2nd or 3rd fastest AWD Typhoon in the country. Very nice truck.

Yeah thats a Malboro Sy next to it. Those pics where taken at the 2003 Great Lakes Gathering of Sy/Ty's. I believe the town it was held in was Lemont. Not too sure.

I know that is far harder to make a TGP's fast. Eventhough Sy/Ty's have a small aftermarket TGP have none by comparison. Anyone who can get a TGP into the 12's deserves tons of respect. Im getting the feeling this thread has started to take a turn and is turning into some kind of a compitition and thats not what I wanted happen. I was trying to give some suggestions from stuff that I've learned from the Sy/Ty world. I'm not trying to give you guys crap or something saying my stuff is better. Hell the reason Im on here is because Im going to buy a TGP for a daily driver in the next year.

Hey, what's wrong with a little healthy competition? Competing with a Ty is a good goal for TGP owners. It gives us a basis to work towards.

Besides, if I really want to put the hurt on someone, I roll out the Supra.


So, still up for some friendly competition? I'd love to race that Ty with the TGP just to see it run. Those things are bad!!!!

Nothing wrong with some healthly competition at all. Nothing motivates people like a god race.  :D  I just didn't want anyone to think I was here to piss anyone off or say that my stuff was better than anyone elses.

Hey since most of us live in by chicago I'm from belvidere we should get together and show off each others cars and go to the strip at Byron of Joliet when we are done with our cars to show off what we can run.

90tgpblack is from the Chicago area, too (Schaumburg).  We really should have some get together or something for the TGPs around here.  There aren't many car guys to talk to in Naperville, seeing how most people around here think anything less than a BMW or Mercedes is a tin can.   :cry:  Of course, these are the same people who can't check their own oil, so I don't put too much stock in their opinions.   :D

well tell john that i like his ride......and i like yours too plain jane sleeper (SUV)   those wheels are very nice ,  i want a set almost like tha but i want 18's and a deeper dish than what you have....i am also goin to get them powder coated to match my originals gold color
