would there be a market on here for a conversion to a vaccum booster from the pmIII with just a few parts.

or in other words, a bracket to convert it, and a way of making the rod work for it also... if i could figure everything out to make a completely bolt on, no dash removal BS kit, do you guys think many people would buy em?

thanks

I think people would buy it considering the prices even for remanufactured units are going ^^^^^^ Prior in texas is charging over $1000 for remans.  GM is over 2 grand last time I checked for whatever NOS they have left.  I specifically did not buy a tgp because of the PMIII I would rather build my gpse into a tgp than deal with that again.

Depends on what you call a "market".  IMHO you probably won't sell very many.

   I know.  I think Kenny is still banking on the x-overs and chips  :icon_rolleyes: . No wonder Jeff never made the tranny kits. I don't blame them. But just trying to help the TGPers.  Pontiac Jeff (Engineered performance) makes the LSD for the 4t60 and builds the 4t60s like I do. He's not seeing much $$$$ either.  Its a small (too small) market

I think Kenny has a little bit more going on then crossovers and chips.........Fords and Chevy v8's are where the money is at, stangs, vettes, the new marrow and old f bodies have a strong following.  No offsense but in my experience W-body owners have no $$$ to cough up for mods, TGP and STE guys are pretty much the big spenders other than the l67 eaton crowd.  But brakes......well unless you plan on junking your car you are going to need them.  When all the PMIII's go bad......and you are looking at over 1 g to get another rebuilt one....a $150 dollar adapter plate and a vacuumn brake booster from the yard will look mighty enticing.  I have been there with the PMIII trying to fix it......I had one in my 89 cutlass international yeah weird right?  I say make a handful I bet some people will buy them.  Gotta be easier than tearing the car apart.

no, not like that, im talking about a complete bolt in unit, where it converts the bolt paterns and rod lengths and everything so that you just bolt it to a vaccum booster, bolt it in, and go to town...

im not trying to bank off it, im just wondering if there would be enough interest to waist my time in figuring it out, not meant for profit, but to benefit those like me, that just want a cheap conversion to make it work...

If you could fabricate a nice kit that looks like it came from the factory, a few people might buy them. That "few" might not be worth the time & trouble invested though. If you do anything, I would fabricate one kit, and make a detailed log of what it takes to make the kit. Then fabricate kits one at a time when someone wants to purchase one(if you fabricated several at one time, you would probably have them sitting in your garage for a long time before selling them).

By the way, was that $1K an actual price for a Prior rebuild these days? The last time I checked, it was around $750ish.

I just stripped an 01 Buick regal, took the vacuum brakes and MC out, also have ABS module... figured it might be worth keeping seeing how it was a W body.  3800 motor and trans are going into my buddys fiero even tho i told him to keep it a 60...

Yeah, I just couldn't figure out a way to work in the one member who claimed that adding a valance to his lightbulb kept it from overheating...

Read it again and I sounded like an ASS  . My sarcasom gets me into truble sometime , thats why I don't use it  :icon_eek: . No hard feelings  . My response was toward the making money off of the TGP. Almost everybody is a tightwad, even me. Be it a Syclone we'd be dropping our paychecks on them.   Good luck. I'll stick to my Hillbilly mods.   :icon_mrgreen:

I might be interested in a kit. But I would be more interested in a kit, that still included a ABS system, that could be intergrated into the existing system. I dont see the wheel sensors needing to be upgraded to perform the same way. Maybe a brake booster that is small, like on the newer impalas, a wiring plug that uses the existing one, or something to that effect. Most dont want ABS, I do. A TGP tire is just to wide to make good traction when skidding. And since I will be living in the snow belt, if I drive one in it, I will need all the help to get going, and stopping.

I would be interested if i cant get my PMIII workin right. Im not a fan of ABS anyways and the systems in our cars are just pure crap.
