hey guys as you may or may not know i just got a 1990 tgp low miles and already problems...i have some problems with start up and WOT and im posting in the tuning because i figured u guys would know most about datalog analysis....so here come the questions!

Map sensor read 13-21 psi could it be wrong/software error(wastegate issues?
what is the typical airflow(in g/sec.)?
when should it go into closed loop, based on what sensors?
should it go into open loop on Power Enrichment Mode?
what might cuase super low o2 reading that dramatically drop to about 24mv? when cuts occured at shift and wot the o2 actually read 4mv for like 4 or 5 seconds

again im logging with DataMaster Beta softeware and i have a 3mb file logged if anyone is willing to look at it PM me or email me and ill get back back to u on how u would like it sent...

o.k. symptoms:
1. car idles roughly after warming up a little
2. car exhibits fuel cut just before shift points @ WOT
3. car actually stalls and will not start after moderate agressive driving or above. we thought fuel pump at first and we got rid of that notion when we tested pressure in the line and held close to 35psi...also responsive to throttle.
4. no codes were shown at any time durring the logged time.

ok i think thats it...again anybody who wants to check out my numbers gimme a pm or email
thanks alot,
mike

TGP's need 45 psi, as for you fuel cut at shift points, adjust your TB cable.

the pressure idles at 35-36 but when u hit the throttle it jumped up to about 46...is this ok or should it sit idle at 45?

As said on the other forum...you are running the stock cross-over. It is a 90% bet that your crossover is cracked. Thus leading to a rich condition because the O2 sensor sees the fresh air entering the cracked cross-over as a "FALSE LEAN" condition. The ECM takes over and tries to fatten up (Richen up) the air/fuel mixture it sees at the 02 sensor...but it will never be able to fatten the mixture enough because of the steady flow of cool fresh air entering the exhaust stream prior to the 02 sensor. Running like that for even a short time will foul your 02 sensor.

You unplugging a fouled 02 sensor sends the ECM into a fail safe fuel mixture and you will idle fine for a short time. The ECM will kick out codes that the 02 sensor has failed and you will not run properly.

How to check for a failed cross-over...look for any traces of carbon (black exhaust film) on or around any portion of the cross-over. You may even want to peal off the heat shielding and insulation to get a better look at the bellows. If it is showing any signs carbon it is cracked.

Fix for your cracked cross-over problem...contact Jeff M and get a cross-over and 02 sensor from him and you will finally be able to enjoy your car. 8)

im not convinced its the crossover becuause the computer is pulling fuel out of the mixture and showing low numbers on injector pulse width...wich says that its reading rich and leaning trying to lean itself out... but yeah im sure i need the crossover too my parents don't want me spending money on the car till we know exactly what wrong with it...i thnk we're gonna bring it to a local garage (i asked jeff m for some suggestions for good minnesota garages) so thats the plan for now
thanks for the responses guys keep em coming if u wanna see the datamaster files or have any other suggestions...
thanks,
mike

well we didn't want to pull the upper plenum if we didn't have to so we had a local garage do a diagnostic on it...turns out there were two bad injectors....so last night my dad and i pulled everything apart and replaced all of them (600$ worth, what a joke) and now it seems to run much more smoothly.  it kind of hesitates thought, but it seems to be getting better.  i noticed one thing, a little more power now. break the fronts loose no problem off the line now. it was only 55 or 60 last night though so that could make the diff.

Did you disconnect your negative battery cable to clear the computer, then do a relearn???

i disconnected the battery and did the, idle in gear 5 min, turn off 10 sec., idle in gear for another 5 min., is that what you mean?
i don't remember if it was the negative terminal, does that matter?

so the dealership gave us the wrong injectors...we insisted they checked to make sure they were for the 3.1 turbo, they said they were posative.  we put them on and had all those problems...now we have the right ones on after going back to the dealership and bitching. they gave us the right injectors for the price of the regular 3.1's and threw in new intake gaskets free...now the car runs really nice.  hopefully for a long time oh yeah and i picked up a crossover from Jeff M. but thanks for the help guys
