Thats funny,  I live in PA and when I bought my car and I got a carfax with the car when I bought it. On both the carfax and the title it just said my car was a "1989 Pontiac Grand Prix SE".  It has the damn "V" so it's not like somebody made one.  Plus it has the VIN # stickers all over the damn car and the sitcker on the drivers door that says that ASC finished the car.

SOME TGP's where just SE's shipped to ASC
I know I looked it up in my Parts manual and it makes a referance to it.
one is Turbo grand prix and
one is Grand Prix SE turbo

I may be wrong but I think your car really is an "SE". Someone must have made a TGP clone out of your car. They must have pulled the V.I.N. plate and stamped the V in it, put a the Turbo Grand Prix badges on it and
did a turbo conversion on a normally aspirated 3.1. and added fender flares. WALA you now have a Turbo Grand Prix. It seems to be a hot trend lately, I'm seeing them all over the place.....these TGP clones.
I can't tell which ones are real and which are clones.
As a matter of fact, since there isn't any real records out there. You all must have clones. Mine is the only real Turbo Grand Prix left in existence.

If that is the one I am remembering, it was owned for a number of years (required by GM) then crushed as it was one of the Test-Bed/1st made versions that are kept around should there be any driveability issues later, proto-types etc get crushed along with other great goodies, unless you know the distributor in Detroit that gets stuff like this, but cannot advertise it, you just have to know people (and one of the main reasons I like living in MI).  The last time I was there (yes a while ago), I saw one of the 1st Viper V10 motors with a hand built/welded intake, tons of spare superchargers for GM 3800s, much more but the sweetest find that I plunged into with every sent I took with me/would of brought a lot more $$ if I knew, Syclone and Typhoon parts, proto-type parts all over, spare upper and lower intakes, transfer cases, leather seat covers and so much more, even items that "were" supposed to be sold as like options but were not (very collectable for SyTy fanatics), I picked up a lower intake that listed for over $800/no longer available, for $75, leather door covers for $15 that are now over $200 from someone who I hooked up to all these parts and HE spent a big chunk of dough and now has these, Ray Moore in CA.  Anyways, giving out your VIN is totally safe, no one can do anything with it, that is why you see VINs on ebay all the time, no biggy to give it out, and at one time I was (low priority for me to try and collect them though.....) going to try and get the VIN from everyone I have talked to/has talked to me, and that would be over 2,000 at this point in time.....so how many used cars have you worked on lately!!  "IF" I had all these VINs by now, would have a much better feel for the number of red/tan, red/gray, blk/gray/sunroof etc etc, but like many things, not enough time, and doubt anyone would take on the project now.

back to work for me, I hear owner number 2001 email coming.
