I waited to come home to start it to answer this question. It will definitely run (roughly)when i take my hand completely off of the keys when cranking. Also,i HATE that bottom bolt.I havent gotten it out yet and the 13mm socket came off and is currently residing on top of the starter :icon_evil:I am going to take a breather for a while and try again.I am seriously considering taking off the starter to get the bottom bolt off. What the hell where they thinking when they put it down there??

BTW,that smell i was describing is worse today.Kind of a burnt smell is the only way to describe it.

just something I thought of is to check all your fuses, maybe ignition fuse?  ECM?  I can't think of what would be causing the burnt smell tho

Yeah, I just couldn't figure out a way to work in the one member who claimed that adding a valance to his lightbulb kept it from overheating...

Is the smell stronger in the car or under the hood. I would guess finding that will be the key to fixing it.

I cant smell that at all under the hood or under the car.I just got the ICM out. That was tough!!

350TPI

Well,it turned out that it was the ICM.I will definitely disconnect the battery from now on and save $95.Thanks to all that replied. :worshippy:

Now since you have the new module in can you tell a difference in the performance to the engine. Does it Idle good?
          Thanks Jimmy

Jimmy, there wasnt anything wrong with the old ICM until i shorted it.Anyway ,to answer your question,i really didnt notice any difference at all.I also put 3 new coils on while changing this out too.I guess it all depends on how wore out this stuff would be on your car as to how much better it will feel.

Thank you  :icon_mrgreen:

I should also say that the bottom bolt is pretty hard to get out but not impossible. If you cant get it just take an hour away from it and try again.I say this in case someone does a search for replacing the ICM.Also, jimmy,i never gave the car more than 30% throttle.Thats just how i drive it though.ANyway, thanks again.

Well,i just cant win.The car is smoking so bad now i am going to quit driving it.I put on a new oil return line about 4 weeks ago and did no good.I have checked the plugs and they arent black or fouled so i guess that means its time for a GT28 :icon_mrgreen:
