Just curious how fast you guys have gotten yours... it's said to top out at 128, which I easilly believe, I got mine up to 121 the other day and I still had a little more to go it seemed, but my exit was comin up so I had to slow down...

120ish in the Black one & only 85ish in the Red car so far on a "closed course."  ;) ;) ;) The Red car only started pulling good after 40ish. I still haven't taken the time to diagnose what's making it slow at lower speeds. I've been busy working on everyone elses vehicles but my own. :icon_redface:

115 while tuning the tgpse.......and I know there is way more in it because the speed limiter is up to 255 mph which it will never get to ;)

hey kuntzie, you got a photobucket account or something, I would like to see some more pics of your engine bay, I see you got your intake goin down and that's something I wanna do with mine. I will be getting a coolant tank off another w-body... (or possibly swapping it out with my moms as she would never know the difference... lol) and runnin a pipe down.

my engine bay no longer looks anything like that, the intake that was on there would come out the headlight and thefilter was where the headlight was.. heres some pics of my engine now

Had my friends up to 132 on the test drive lol.  Had to make sure it ran good he he.  Had my Red 90 up to 129 but had a issue with a intercooler coupling coming loose and letting all the work of the turbo release into the engine bay instead of the throttle body.

interesting, my first grand prix was a loaded 1991 GTP and there was a factory limiter that cut the rpms at 104.  i now have a 1990 TGP and it does the same thing!?  hmmmmm.  is there different month runs or something? an upgrade or degrade of some sorts why things may be different between cars? when i wanna go that fast i drive one of my muscle cars:) HA! would be nice to get my grand prix goin that fast like u mention. let me know how!.....scot

Scot, your car should do 128mph before hitting a limiter of any sorts. We're limited to 128 @ wide open throttle because the transaxles will not shift into 4th gear(safety feature basically as 4th gear is notoriously weak and you will toast it quick if you could put full power through it). Your GTP should have had a higher limiter also. ;)

ya, I am pretty sure my old 91 prix was set at 115....

so im assuming there is a way to chnage the mph cutout since we seem to have alot of differing numbers on that?  how is it done and should it be? also it sounds like the 89 goes much faster? also a 5 speed tranny unlike 1990 4 speed? anything else? hmmmm.
