Quote from: TGPRobNYI was reading the thread on this..and how amusing. Maybe the seller should post the VIN number? Just a thought.

Dude, don't even get me started.  He IMed me on AIM for some reason last night, trying to teach me what a TGP is.  Who signs up on a TGP forum to inform members that TGPs exist???  I spent over a half hour reading his mindless ramblings (during which time, I also suggest he put up the Vin #).  He said sure, if you want to pay the Carfax to tell you that it's a '91.  I told him the board doesn't need Carfax to decode the vin #.  He said he'd get it later.  He said he was 41, but from all the grammatical errors and the fact that he came onto a board for TGP enthusiasts with the nerve to tell us to "read up" on TGPs, I'm guessing he's actually 14.

The turbo coupe was dropped this year. It was replaced with the Grand Prix GTP.

Oh, and don't bother.  He's still not grasping this concept, apparently.  He gave me that link last night, too, calling it evidence that there WAS a '91 TGP, not that there WASN'T one....

He also gave me a link to a car parts site which had a whole list of '91 Grand Prix stuff, including "1991 Grand Prix Turbo parts".  As if parts places are a reliable source for info.     I've seen listings for '91 Pontiac 6000 STEs, even though they were dropped in '90 (that means they didn't make any IN '90, not they made the decision to drop them for '91 in '90).  Sorry, had to spell that out for the laymen.  What he failed to do was click on that turbo parts link, where, on the following page, they had turbos, intercoolers and SUPERCHARGERS!  -gasp-  They made supercharged AND turbo Grand Prix' in '91???  It MUST be true!  It's on the site!

Anyways, after a while of suffering through this, I just had to block him from AIM.  It was causing brain damage trying to make this person understand that I OWN 2 of them, and don't need his missinformed "explainations"!  Damn, my head still hurts from last night.....and no, I don't drink, so I'm not talking hang-over.

Dude, careful! You'll give ourself a hemorage!! Like Lewis Black says, teh reason for these unexplained brain hemorages is because someone says something so stupid, and it goes IN YOUR EAR! And whe you turn to someone to talk to them about it, there's nonone there. Then you turn back to the person that said it.... and they're gone too!!! So know, your walking around thinkg about"there was a 91 tgp, there was a 91 tgp" and thinking"there's no such thing as a 91 tgp, I know there's not". And it keeps rattling around and making your head spin!!

The next morning they find you dead in your bathroom.

That's where brain hemorages come from!!

It is not worth anything more then a regular GP, because if it had a turbo in it, it is not factory... IMFO

I think it is hilarious that this guy comes on here and tries to tell us, Turbo Grand Prix owners, that we don't know anything about the cars we own, and that we should do research on them.  We all know there was no Turbo Grand Prix in '91, and if he thinks there is, good for him, he is wrong, we all know it, just leave him alone and let him think that.

But in case anyone on here hasn't noticed, Jeff M. says right on his site that there was a Turbo STE in 1991, maybe that is where he got it from.

Since 1995 when I got on the Net, I have talked to TGP owners, with now over 3,000 owners confired with, maybe some repeat cars/new owners.  Over the years it has been stated and said to me by a few owners with proven VIN number regarding 1991 Turbo STEs, and only the TSTE, NO 1991 TGPs.  Now from what makes sense, the TSTE came out as a MY (Manufacturing Year) 1990 car (released in fall of 1989), and was pretty well received by the public, enough that a few 1991 TSTEs were still done, technically still made in 1990 but at year-end when most 1991 Regular/3.1 and 3400 STEs were released.

Just to mention these 1991 3400 STEs had the same larger hood louvers the TGP and TSTE had, and in more colors than the TSTE offered.  That is it for these cars, now there has been rumors and for some, facts that McLaren or (?) made a run of 25 3.1L turbo AWD 6000 STEs, this and the actual MY run of the TGP and TSTE and quantity are what I am planning to confirm on my next visit back to McLaren this spring (even talked with the wife tonight about all the other friends and relatives we could hit while there, and the Museum where there is a true TGP Pace Car, MORE PICS!!!).

So stay tuned, all this info I look to put on my thin ass web sight (for now    ).
