I put on my BRAND NEW driver's side door handle today.  And yes it is a GM doorhandle too! :icon_twisted: No more getting in the passenger side!   You don't think of a doorhandle as awesome until you have lost it!   $20 well spent anyway  :icon_twisted:

Speaking of door handles, I just adjusted the driver's side one on my '93 GP...it's been on the car about 6yrs now. After adjusting it a little, the door handle pops the door open very easily now. :icon_cool:

And to keep on-topic, um, I drove my TGP around aimlessly yesterday evening...she's running great. :icon_biggrin:

i'm in the middle of doing a bunch of stuff to my TGP powered Cutlass...

- replacing turbo (with another stocker) because the old one smoked at idle not to mention it was only held onto the crossover pipe with 3 bolts (stripped hole in crossover pipe-to-turbine flange).  unfortunately two of the SHCS that were used to fasten the downpipe to the turbine stripped out :icon_mad: so i had to pull the turbo out with the downpipe still attatched.  thankfully i have an extra TGP downpipe laying around.  i'll never use SHCS for the downpipe ever again.  the small 6mm head strips out way too easily and IMO are more difficult to reach than regular HHCS.

- replacing the downpipe bracket on the rear cylinder head.  the old bracket had a stripped hole on the dowpipe side.  unfortunately one of the holes in the rear cylinder head is stripped out.  i'm not going to be able to tap that out until i have the engine out of the car.  i'm hoping it doesn't cause any rattling/false KR problems.

- finally put my TGP specific fuel lines in (the flexible ones that are shaped to keep them further away from the turbine).  i previously had regular NA 3.1 fuel lines in that were bent upwards to keep away from the turbine heat.

- with the TGP specific fuel lines i finally have room to put the cruise control back in!

- installed the vacuum ball from my TSTE (old one broke completely off)

- new under-plenum vacuum harness.  having CC again is going to rock!

- installed a TGP specific heater core supply pipe so the heater core is no longer supplied by the line that is supposed to feed the TB heater.  i can now bypass the TB heater the correct way with the 'L' shaped bypass hose.

- found a bellhousing bolt completely loose and backed out almost 1/4" so i tightened that up

- new O2 sensor, probably going to get a 3 or 4 wire this time

- new K&N cone filter & T-bolt clamp (worm gear clamp ripped the filter neck)

- getting rid of EGR completely.  i'll probably just take the crossover pipe to the local exhaust shop so they can cut off the EGR bung and weld it up.  while i have the plenum off i'm going to tap the EGR hole so i can install a vacuum distribution block there.

- also replacing some of the turbo lines with spares i have that are in better condition

i think that's about it.  unfortunately i still won't be able to drive the car when i'm done :icon_neutral:  i haven't driven the car since June 14th.  since then it's gotten a TON of new parts though.

I put a turboxs boost controller on my STE.  Runs like a champ, with 0kr, 11.5psi boost, and 16 degrees of timing at WOT on 87 octane.  At least I'm having a LITTLE fun driving it.  Still not fast, but next year with the 5 speed, turbo, and injectors, and probably doing some 1.6 roller rockers, hopefully a front mount, and redoing some of my halfassed swap stuff.

Unfortunately I'm gonna have to get my own boost controller (oh damn, gonna have to spend $5 at home depot  :icon_lol:) when my friend puts a new bottom end in his civic and needs the boost controller back.  Before he blew it up for the second time this year it ran VERY VERY well, it walked hard on my GP GT (probably 4 cars to 80mph).  The first time it scattered and it was his fault (18psi + 11.8:1 compression = not good, even though he was running 110 octane).  This time he had less compression (11:1) and less boost (13psi), and was still running 110 octane, and the setup was actually pretty good, it just went lean for a split second and thats all it took.  Fortunately this time it just put a chip in the #4 piston.  That cylinder makes 60psi and the others are all around 210 IIRC.

I kicked the Prior remanned PM III out of my car and went back to GM parts. so far I got a new pressure switch and rebuilt the unit with a different pump. not sure, might need an accumulater eventually.

I think I got it to stop leaking though. Its been in and out like 5 times in the last month. turns out the rear caliper was leaking so we put on new calipers, rotors and pads.

Just opend the hood to make sure the motor was still there and checked the oil. Went and got a 12 foot 2x6 and stuffed it in through the back. Only had about 2' sticking out. Amazing.

First time in a month that I have driven it.

I'll keep you posted on the next major thing I do. ;)

Temps are starting to drop, when ya' racing again Jud? ;) I'm planning on making a few runs w/ my slow TGP in October or November when it cools off even more. I want to beat my old 14.7 and my old 92mph trap speed...then I'm going to a "good" track to try to shave off some more time.

Don't really know Matt. I guess I need to get my ass in gear and find out why I only have 60# of FP. Can't run on that. Think is the RRFR which means I have to send it off to get it fixed. I have enough pressure with the return line blocked to blow the rail off the injectors. Just fixed that. That's a test that didn't work to well.  :icon_sad:

Your right I guess it has been about a year since I laid down my best run although I did put down a 1.9 60' and 8.49 at the 1/8 mile track. Stickest track I've ever been on. Had a little trouble at the line so I didn't send you that one. Don't really belive it. Think it might have been the back tires. When I get a good one that I trust you will be the first to know.

Kinda wainting for Jeff (kuntzie) to make a move since he is the only one close and then Kenny could give him the fastest TGP award, but only for a little while don't plan on letting him keep it for long. Only flogged on mine for about 6 runs to get my best time. I'am pretty sure there is alot to go, like at least 5# and some gas

I would say a 14.7 is pretty respectable.

Jeff keep pluging away. GET A FRIGGING CLUTCH THAT SLIPS, THERE OUT THERE. Had one, read about them and loved them. Sooooooo easy on the drive line. I am afraid to run for fear of breaking an axel and you will have bought all of them in the world. :icon_biggrin:

Engine bay paint's almost done. Just hope it didn't scratch easy.

Subframe's sitting in a pool be electrolysized. Really slow going.

Heads are getting rebuilt with LS6 springs, and my flywheel is getting resurfaced. Need some money so I can go pick them up, they're probably done by now.

That's pretty much it lately. Unfortunetly I need to dump about $250 into the Cutlass to get it inspected so the STE's moving real slow as of late. I can't stand it.
